Progress Report on Renovation

Progress Report : 10 - 6th June 2010

 

Progress on Porch - 28th May		Completed Ceiling - 28th May

 

Activity during the period 24th May – 6th June 2010.

• The Roof work continued and is substantially complete.
• Stonework has continued during the period with the Bell Tower substantially complete except for pointing.
• Pointing of the Stonework to match the existing Church walls continued.
• Ceiling work commenced in the main church and is 60% complete
• Electrical installations continued.
• Plastering of was carried out and completed on all the internal walls.
• Considerable work was carried out on the Porch with the stonework 80% complete and the roof structure 75% completed.
• Joinery work and internal painting is in progress.

Principal Activities anticipated in the period 7th June – 20th June 2010.

• The majority of the remaining work is expected to be approaching substantial completion in this period.
• Stonework will continue to completion on the Porch.
• Roofing and Flooring of the Porch will be completed.
• Electrical work will continue to completion, including light fittings.
•  Internal Finishes will continue to substantial completion in the main part of the church. This will include completing the ceilings; plastering and plumbing together with painting; sanding and staining the wooden floor and re-laying of the carpeting.
• The external pathways will be carried out.
• Tidying up of the site will be put in hand.
• Arrangements are in hand for the installation of the speakers for the new organ, although it will be necessary to re-install the old organ console for the time being because of the late arrival of the new one.

Status of Progress versus Program.

• Progress has been reasonable in the past fortnight, although the ceiling work has been running behind the required rate and this has held up some of the remaining internal works, principally the sanding; staining and sealing of the floor.
• The Contract Completion date remains Monday 14th June 2010.

General.

• Weekly site meetings continue to be held each Thursday morning.
• The re-opening of the Church is being planned for Sunday 27th June. This will be confirmed on Thursday 10th June.

This is probably going to be the last fortnightly progress report, as the congregation will be able to see the renovated church, in the flesh, on Sunday 27th June.
