Fridays: There are morning prayers at 09h00.
Sundays: Holy Communion at 09h00, followed by tea and cakes under the oak trees.
Children’s Church at 09h00 at Hill School next door to church. Children join us for communion. There is no Children’s Church during school holidays.
Music: The Church of the Good Shepherd has a choir ably led by a wonderful choirmaster, Prof. Lionel Miles.
Baptism: Baptism is the sacrament of initiation, the outward sign of God’s grace by which we are welcomed into the church. Baptism preparation is on an informal and individual basis. For enquiries about baptism at Good Shepherd please contact Revd. Jo Tyers (see Contact Us section for details).
Confirmation: A public declaration and an act of commitment to Christ by those who have been baptised, confirming the promises made on their behalf by their parents and godparents. We offer confirmation courses for teenagers and adults. The confirmation service takes place at St. Saviour’s, Claremont where the bishop prays for the confirmation candidates to receive the strengthening gift of the Holy Spirit. For enquiries about baptism at Good Shepherd, please contact Revd. Jo Tyers (see Contact Us for details).
Marriage: We provide the opportunity for you to prepare for your wedding through informal marriage preparation discussions. We also offer individual couple counselling. A second important part of your preparation for marriage, as well as the continued nurturing of your relationship is to worship together within the congregation.
We hope that your wedding will be a memorable occasion and a truly joyous start to your married life.
Baptism, church membership and attending the marriage preparation course is required for all couples getting married at Good Shepherd.
